Chapter 7: Administration of Excel Services
Short Session Timeout — The maximum amount of time (seconds) that a session remains active,
as measured from the end of the EWA request. The timeout is measured from the end of each
subsequent request in the session. The Excel Services Web Service does not use the Short Session
Timeout. The Short Session Timeout is only until an interactive request is made, and then the
Session Timeout setting is used for the duration of the session. The default value is 75 seconds.
The valid values for the Short Session Timeout property are the same as the valid values for the
Maximum Request Duration — The maximum amount of time (seconds) that a request can
execute without finishing before the Excel Calculation Server attempts to cancel the request. The
default value is 300 seconds. The Maximum Request Duration property can have the following
-1 — No maximum duration is placed on a request.
1 through 2073600 (24 days) — The session will expire after this number of seconds.
As shown in Figure 7-6, the Workbook Properties section of the page contains settings for the following
trusted file location properties:
Maximum Workbook Size — The maximum size (MB) of a workbook that the ECS will load. The
default value is 10. Valid values for the Maximum Workbook Size property are 1 through 2000.
Maximum Chart Size — The maximum size (MB) of a chart within a workbook that the ECS will
load. The default value is 10. The value must be a positive integer.
