Chapter 7: Administration of Excel Services
Automatic — Overrides the workbook’s calculation mode. Only automatic calculation is
supported, so the workbook is always calculated when loaded by the ECS.
Automatic Except Data Tables — Overrides the workbook’s calculation mode. Only
automatic calculation is supported, so the workbook is always calculated when loaded by
the ECS. The one exception is that data tables are not calculated.
As shown in Figure 7-8, the External Data section of the page contains settings for the following trusted
file location properties:
Allow External Data — This setting determines where the workbook’s external data connection
information can be retrieved. You have three options for this setting:
None — This is the default. External data connections will not be used.
Trusted Data Connection Libraries Only — External data connection information must be
retrieved from a trusted DCL.
Trusted Data Connection Libraries and Embedded — External data connection information
can be retrieved from a trusted DCL, or from the connection information contained in
Warn On Refresh — Select this if you want a confirmation dialog box displayed before external
data can be refreshed. The default setting is to display the confirmation dialog box.
