Chapter 7: Administration of Excel Services
Figure 7-15
Command-Line Options for Excel Services Settings
You can also administer Excel Services Settings from the command line. The command-line interface
supports setting a value for each of the Excel Services Settings properties for the SSP in your farm.
Unlike the web page interface for managing Excel Services Settings, which inherently knows which
SSP is being administered, you need to specify the SSP name when working with this collection of
properties through the command line.
The Excel Services Settings command-line feature does not support reading the current property
values. If you want to view the current property values, use the SSP’s Excel Services Settings
administration page.
To work with this collection of properties through the command line, you must know the location of
the stsadm.exe file. This executable is installed on each MOSS server as part of the setup, and the file is
located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\bin\, for
example.
The syntax for working with the command line is fairly standard. See the “Command Line Options for
Trusted File Locations” section earlier in this chapter for an overview.
