The Report Viewer Page
The Report Center template also installs a default report viewer page. For Excel reports, this is different
from the regular Excel Viewer page. It includes some additional report metadata that is useful to have on
hand when viewing a report. You can also collapse the metadata to make more room on the screen for
the actual report, as you will see in the next Try It Out.
Try It Out Working with the Report Viewer Page
To work with the report viewer page, follow these steps:
1.
Return to the report library in the browser.
2.
Click the SampleWorkbook link (or, if it doesn’t exist, click the link for the Weekly Sales Report
you just created). The report library is set to default to browser-based rendering, and the report
is displayed on the report viewer page, as shown in Figure 12-6.

The metadata associated with this report, including the report creator, the create date, and so on,
are displayed at the top of the report. Collapse this metadata view by clicking the up arrow icon
on the right side of the pane.
4.
Continue to explore the report library. Notice that there are a number of default columns that
are part of the template, as well as default views on the library.
