15. Click the OK button at the bottom of the page.
Next, you manually define the goal and warning values for the indicator. Had these
values been present in the workbook, you could have taken them from there instead.
16. In the Status Icon Rules section of the New Item form, enter 10,000,000 for the goal and
8,000,000 for the warning, as shown in Figure 12-9.
17. Leave the rest of the options at their default settings and click OK at the bottom of the page.
Your Sales Metrics indicator list now contains the Total Revenue KPI with the appropriate
values, as shown in Figure 12-10.
How It Works
Every time you or any other user views this KPI list, the value for the Total Sales indicator is extracted
from the Sales Report workbook. Behind the scenes, Excel Services calls the Web service interface to
open the workbook and get the value from the cell you specified.
