Working with SQL Server Analysis Services
Next, you create a filter part so that you can connect both the KPI and the workbook to it. The filter also
sources the filter options directly from the Analysis Services cube’s Data dimension.
Try It Out Creating the Filter Part
To create a filter part to which you can connect the KPI and workbook, follow these steps:
In the left pane of the dashboard page, under the Filter Zone, click Add A Filter.
Select the SQL Server Analysis Services Filter option in the Add Web Parts dialog box. Click Add.
Configure the filter part by clicking Open The Tool Pane link on the newly added part.
Enter the name Date for the filter.
To pick a data connection for the filter part, keep the default, which uses the same data
connection as the KPI List Web Part that is on the page. This automatically connects the part to filter
the list. (Alternatively, you can select the Adventure Works data connection file from the DCL.)
Select the Date dimension in the Dimension drop-down menu.
