Make sure Date is selected for the Filtered Parameter.

Click the Finish button to create the part-to-part connection.

Either edit the Summary Web Part and type in introductory text, or delete it from the page by
clicking on the x icon in the upper-left corner of the Web Part.

Click the Publish button on the toolbar at the top of the page to make the dashboard available
for users to see. The completed dashboard is shown in Figure 12-25.

To filter the dashboard, click the filter icon on the Date filter part. The values are loaded from
the Analysis Services Data dimension and displayed.

Select the CY 2004 value and click OK.
10.
Click the Apply Filters button. Both the KPI and the workbook are filtered to present sales
values for only calendar year 2004.
The Excel workbook you created has a Date parameter that drives a value in the report filter of the
PivotTable. The Report field must have a valid Analysis Services member to filter the PivotTable.
