Excel Web Services
After you have performed an evaluation server installation, the Excel Server public web service API is
available and fully functional. Chapter 14 provides more detailed information for using the API.
Summary
In this chapter, you learned what the hardware and software requirements are for successfully installing
an evaluation version of the MOSS. The three available types of server installation were described, and
then the steps necessary to install an evaluation server were discussed. The setup and the configuration
wizards were included in the walkthrough.
You were introduced to the Report Center’s sample dashboard, and you were shown how to work with
it in edit mode. You saw how to use the xlviewer.aspx to render a workbook by leveraging the sample
workbook in the Report Center.
