To Turn Off the Computer
After logging off, you also may want to turn off the computer using the Turn off computer link on the Welcome
screen. Turning off the computer shuts down Windows XP so you can turn off the power to the computer. Almost all
computers turn the power off automatically. The following steps turn off the computer. If you are not sure about turning off the
computer, simply read the steps.

Click the Turn Off button in the Turn off computer dialog box.
If I accidentally click Turn Off computer on the Welcome screen and I do not want to shut
down Windows XP, what should I do?
Click the Cancel button in the Turn off computer dialog box to return to normal Windows XP
operation.
