Why does Excel select the
range D14:D15?
The range D14:D15 automatically
selected by Excel is not correct.
Excel attempts to guess which
cells you want to include in the
function by looking for adjacent
ranges to the selected cell that
contain numeric data.

is adjacent to cell D16
