In Depth Information
2. In the Controls group on the Form Layout Tools Format tab, click the Line Type
button , and then point to each option in the gallery of line types to see the
ScreenTip for each type of line.
3. Click the Dots option (fourth line type option in the gallery), and then click in a
blank area of the main form to deselect the box. The box around the field value for
Customer ID changes to a dotted line.
Oren thinks the dotted line type is much better and makes the field value easier to
see. He asks you to change the line type for the rest of the boxes on the form. To
do so, you can select the remaining boxes and apply the new line type to them all
at the same time.
4. Click the field value box for the Company field (the box is currently empty), press
and hold the Shift key, click each of the remaining field value boxes, and then
release the Shift key. All the field value boxes except the first one should be
selected; each box is outlined in orange to indicate it is selected. See Figure 4-9.

type for each box is now dotted.
Oren approves of all the formatting changes you have made so far. After viewing the
form and considering how his employees will use it, he realizes that the E-mail Address
field should be positioned at the bottom of the form. When a new customer signs a con-
tract with Belmont Landscapes, the customer fills out a paper form with contact
information. On this paper form, the customer’s e-mail address is the final piece of infor-
mation provided. Because Oren’s employees will enter customer information into the
Customer table based on the paper forms customers fill out, the design and layout of the
Customer Data form should match the paper form, for ease of data entry. Therefore, Oren
asks you to move the E-mail Address field to the bottom of the form.
