The Advanced Filter—Setting Your Data Aside

because, as per our introduction to this exercise, these are the names of the only two fields for which we
want to see the filtered results—and those results will appear directly beneath those two headings when
we execute the Advanced Filter. Remember as well that this results area could be designated anywhere
on the worksheet.
In the interests off tidying up the worksheet, first either delete the Class Averages row or insert some
blank rows between it and Ringo’s data (we’re doing this because we don’t want Class Averages treated
as another student). Then click anywhere in the data and click Data Advanced in the Sort & Filter
button group. You’ll see (Figure 6–30):
