Checking a Document
Figure 9-12 Click Remove All for each category to sanitize your document file.
Making a document accessible to the widest group of readers isn’t just political correctness;
it’s smart business. Furthermore, it’s required for some business and government
documents. Most issues identified make it easier for visually impaired users to read a document.
For example, adding alt text to each picture (which text-to-speech software can read aloud)
can improve your document’s accessibility. If your document contains potential
accessibility issues, a notice to that effect appears on the Info tab under Prepare For Sharing. To
learn more, click Check For Issues, Check Accessibility. An Accessibility Checker pane then
appears next to your document. As you expand and click each item under Errors, Warnings,
and Tips, the offending item is selected and explanatory text appears at the bottom of the
Accessibility Checker pane.
