Can I promote and demote headings directly on a slide?
Yes. However, you cannot promote or demote a slide title. This is a true advantage of using Outline view. In
Normal view, you need to add a slide and then cut and paste bullet points to promote a bullet point to a
slide. To change the level of a bullet point on a slide, click the bullet and then click either Promote ( ) or
Demote ( ) in the Paragraph group on the Home tab. The change in promotion or demotion occurs both
on the slide and in the outline. If you click the bullet point text on the slide, it does not work — you must
click the bullet.
