In Depth Information
Excel provides a variety of chart types and subtypes
from which to choose. Choose the chart type that
best explains your data.
You can use a column or bar chart to plot data
arranged in rows and columns. Both types are useful
when you have data that changes over time or when
you want to compare data values.
Area and line charts are also good for plotting data
organized into columns and rows. Use an area chart
to show how values change over time and how each
part of the whole contributes to the change. Line
charts are ideal for showing trends in your data;
consider using a line chart to show changes
measured at regular intervals.
Pie charts are useful when you want to display data
arranged in one column or one row. Each data point in
a pie chart represents a percentage of the whole pie.
