PASTE LINK
into Word or PowerPoint
By paste linking Excel worksheets into Word or
PowerPoint, you can add sophisticated calculations
created in Excel to documents created in Word or
PowerPoint. In Word, for example, you can use Excel
worksheets to present quarterly reports or other
financial documents.
When you paste link, if you alter Excel data while
in Word or PowerPoint, Office automatically updates
the Excel worksheet. The opposite is also true. When
you alter paste-linked data while in Excel, Office
automatically updates the paste-linked Word or
PowerPoint document. Paste linking enables you to
keep your documents in sync, because you do not
have to worry about manually coordinating the
changes to one document with the other document.
To update a paste-linked Excel worksheet while in
Word or PowerPoint, double-click the worksheet to
edit it. When you do, Microsoft Word or PowerPoint
automatically opens the document in Excel so you
have all the Excel commands available to you as you
edit your document.
