Did You Know?
You can import data that consists of text
separated by commas, tabs, semicolons, or other
delimiters. Click the Data tab and then, in the Get
External Data group, click the From Text button
( ). The Import Text File dialog box appears.
Click your file and then click Import. The Text
Import Wizard appears. The wizard steps you
through the process of importing your file.
Customize It!
When you transfer data into Excel the formatting
button appears. To prevent unwanted Word
formatting from accompanying the imported
content, click the menu and click Match
Destination Formatting ( changes to ). The
Paste Options menu remains visible until you
begin another Excel task.
