Creating headers and footers
Add predefined text to the header or footer
1 Click the Insert tab.
2 Click Text.
3 Click Header & Footer.
4 Click the section of the header or footer where you want your text
to appear, and type the text that you want.
5 If you want to use predefined text, position the insertion point
where you want the text to appear.
6 Click a button to insert the predefined text.
TIP You can change the appearance of your header and footer
text by selecting the text or the code representing the value to
be printed (for example, the current time) and then using the controls
on the Home tab on the ribbon.
Adjust header and footer height
1 Click the Page Layout tab.
2 Click the Page Setup group’s dialog box expander.
3 On the Page Setup dialog box, if necessary, click the Margins tab.
4 Type a new height for the header in the Header box.
5 Type a new height for the footer in the Footer box.
6 Click OK.
TIP The directions of the arrowheads show you in which
direction you can move the line.
