Removing a ribbon element
Removing a ribbon element
If you add elements to one or more ribbon tabs, you might find
that those tabs start to become a bit crowded. Even if you bring
all of your favorite commands onto a single tab, you might
need to remove a few of them to make your tab easier to use.
To remove a ribbon element, you display the Customize The
Ribbon page of the Excel Options dialog box and use its
controls to get rid of the element that you no longer want.
Remove a ribbon element
1 Right-click any ribbon tab.
2 Click Customize The Ribbon.
3 Click the command, group, or tab that you want to remove.
4 Click Remove.
5 Click OK.
CAUTIoN Removing a custom tab or group deletes that
element. If you want the element to remain available for use,
hide it instead of removing it.
TIP You can hide a built-in ribbon tab, such as Home or View,
but not delete it.
