Changing the rotation of axis labels
If you create a chart with labels on the horizontal axis that will overlap if displayed
horizontally, Excel ordinarily angles the labels, like this:
If you widen the chart, the program reverts to a horizontal label display—in some cases,
breaking labels onto two lines:
Although this “automatic” behavior suits most users fine in most circumstances, you
can override it. To change the rotation explicitly, select the axis labels and then click the
Orientation tool in the Alignment group of the Home tab:
