Changing the position of axis labels
By default, Excel displays axis labels adjacent to axes. Sometimes that’s not ideal:
When the chart includes both negative and positive values, as this one does, Excel draws
the horizontal axis appropriately at the 0 point of the vertical axis, but it’s not smart enough
to move the axis labels away from the negative values. You can ix this by double-clicking
the axis, choosing the fourth icon under the heading Axis Options in the Format Axis task
pane, and then choosing Low in the Label Position drop-down list. The result looks like this:
