Microsoft Office Tutorials and References
In Depth Information
From the Attachments tab, you can work with the attachment or switch between the message
content and attachment preview.
TIP You can turn off the Attachment Preview feature from the Attachment Handling
page of the Trust Center window, which you open from the Outlook Options dialog
box. For information about Trust Center settings, see “Configuring Office and
Outlook options” in Chapter 11, “Customize Outlook.”
▪ You can open the attachment in the program assigned to that file type from the
Reading Pane or from an open message window by double-clicking the attachment
in the message header.
▪ You can save the attachment to your hard disk and open it from there. This strategy
is recommended if you suspect an attachment might contain a virus, because you
can scan the file for viruses before opening it (provided that you have a virus
scanning program installed).
