After turning Cached Exchange Mode on or off, exit and restart Outlook to effect the
change.

Managing an ofline address book
When Cached Exchange Mode is enabled, Outlook downloads a copy of the Global Address
List (GAL) along with your mailbox. This local copy of the GAL provides access to your
coworkers’ contact information regardless of whether you are online. If your network
connection is slow and the address book is large, this download might take a long time. If you
prefer, you can disable the automatic download of the address book, and then manually
update it at your convenience.
To exclude the ofline address book from send/receive operations, follow these steps:
On the
Send/Receive
tab, in the
Send & Receive
group, click the
Send/Receive
Groups
button and then, in the list, click
Define Send/Receive Groups
.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUT
Press Ctrl+Alt+S to open the Send/Receive Groups dialog
