In this exercise, you’ll take a tour of the window-management and content-management
tools in a message composition window. Along the way, you’ll work with commands on the
ribbon, on the Quick Access Toolbar, and in the Backstage view.
SET UP You don’t need any practice files to complete this exercise. Display your
Outlook Inbox, and then follow the steps.
On the Home tab, in the New group, click the New Email button to open an untitled
message window with the cursor in the To box. Notice that the commands in the
Basic Text group on the Message tab are inactive.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUT Press Ctrl+Shift+M to create a message.
