In this exercise, you’ll take a tour of the calendar item window elements that differ from the
message windows discussed earlier in this chapter. You’ll also learn about the differences
between the types of calendar items.
SET UP You don’t need any practice files to complete this exercise; just follow the
steps.

On the Navigation Bar , click the Calendar button to open the Calendar module and
display the calendar associated with your default email account in the Calendar pane.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUT Press Ctrl+2 to display the Calendar module.
TIP If you want to work in two modules at the same time, you can open a module
in a second instance of Outlook by right-clicking the module link or button on the
Navigation Bar and then clicking Open In New Window.

On the Home tab, in the New group, click the New Appointment button to open an
untitled appointment window.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUT Press Ctrl+Shift+A to create an appointment from any
Outlook module.

On the Appointment tab, in the Attendees group, click the Invite Attendees button
to change the appointment window to a meeting window and display the Room
Finder pane.
A meeting window includes a To field and the ability to locate meeting resources.
