ASSIGNMENT 2: USING THE SPREADSHEET FOR DECISION SUPPORT
Enter the inputs. The input data that changes is the number of years in college and the investment rate.
Enter the data, observe the NPV value in the Key Results area, and then manually record the NPV value in a
data collection area at the top of the Inputs area. You will record nine data points. Figure 10-7 shows an
example of the finished spreadsheet.

Note that the results shown in Figure 10-7 are for illustration purposes only, and the nine data points are
shown in thousands. You can copy the data to a new worksheet for charting purposes, as shown in Figure 10-8.
Name the sheet Years.

To create an Excel chart, highlight the data set, including the labels. Next, click the Insert tab and then
select the type of chart you want in the Charts group. For example, Figure 10-8 shows a Scatter diagram with
smooth lines. In the Labels group of the Layout tab, use the Chart Title and Axis Title buttons to create titles
