The top figure is from Business Week; the bottom figure is from
Excel. The Excel figure uses five charts, all scaled from 0 to 35
percent. Four of the charts show no axes information, only the data.
The fifth shows only the axes information and gridlines, but no data.
The four charts are on top of the fifth. Cells in the worksheet
contain the names of each company.
In Excel, it’s easy to set up bold formatting like this for the chart’s
title. But use it sparingly. By overdoing it, your audience begins to
feel that you’re yelling at them.
