Microsoft Office Tutorials and References
In Depth Information
As you can see in the workspace, application pools were created for the SharePoint-80 and
Central Administration v4 IIS Web Sites (and conveniently named after them). Any application
pool with a white circle/black square icon is stopped. In our example, that includes the Web
Services site; the applications within it actively need application pools, but the IIS Web Site itself
is just a container.
To see what the account identity is for an application pool (I’m going to use SharePoint-80 for
this example), just select the application pool in the workspace, and click Advanced Settings in
the actions pane.
