Confirming IIS Web Sites and Application Pools
When you created the SharePoint-80 web application, it created a corresponding IIS Web Site.
Also, whenever you created an application pool account, SharePoint added it to IIS.
So, let’s take a glance and see what changed:
1. Open the IIS Manager console (Start Administrative Tools Internet Information
Services (IIS) Manager).
2. Once in the console, in the connections pane, open the local server node (if it isn’t
already), and double-click the Sites node icon (Figure 3.62). There will be, in addition to
the Central Administration and Web Services Web Sites, a SharePoint-80 (or whatever
you named your web application) Web Site as well.
