LINKS AREN’T JUST FOR WEB PAGES
A hyperlink field is actually just a path field, a field that will hold a path or address that, when
selected in the web part, will open whatever is at the end of that path. That’s why the field is often
called Hyperlink or Picture field.
This means that the hyperlink field for a Links item does not have to be a web address. It can be a
path to a document or image in a public share, or even a folder if all users have access to it. Hyperlink
fields are not something to be ignored. Get creative. Imagine what you could offer your users with
a link on the home page.
