Applying Number Formats
To format the revenue values:
1. Select the range C18:E26 .
For international
documents, you can select
other currency symbols:
In the Number group on
the Home tab, click the
Accounting Number Format
button arrow, and then
click a currency symbol.
2. In the Number group on the Home tab, click the Comma Style button
.
3. Select the nonadjacent range C18:E18;C26:E26 .
4. In the Number group, click the Accounting Number Format button . As
shown in Figure 2-10, $ symbols are added to the revenue values in the first and
last row.

Next, you’ll format the percent change values in column F. When you format values
as percentages, the % symbol appears after the number and no digits appear to the right
of the decimal point. You can change how many decimal places are displayed in the cell.
Tom wants the percentages in column F to display the % symbol with two decimal places.
To format the percentages in column F:
1. Select the nonadjacent range F7:F15;F18:F26 .
2. In the Number group on the Home tab, click the Percent Style button
.
3. In the Number group, click the Increase Decimal button
twice to display the
percentages to two decimal places.
4. Scroll up and click cell to deselect the range. Figure 2-11 shows the formatted A6
numbers in the worksheet.
