Creating Page Headers and Footers
2. Scroll to the top of the worksheet, and then click the left section of the header
directly above cell A1. The Header & Footer Tools contextual tab appears on the
Ribbon.
3. Type Filename: in the left section of the header, press the spacebar , and then,
in the Header & Footer Elements group on the Design tab, click the File Name
button. The code &[File], which displays the filename of the current workbook, is
added into the left section of the header.
4. Press the Tab key twice to move to the right section of the header, and then
click the Current Date button in the Header & Footer Elements group. The code
&[Date] is added into the right section of the header. See Figure 2-40.

5. In the Navigation group on the Design tab, click the Go to Footer button. The
right section of the footer is selected.
6. Click the center section of the footer, type Page , press the spacebar , and click
the Page Number button in the Header & Footer Elements group.
7. Press the spacebar , type of, press the spacebar , and then click the Number of
Pages button in the Header & Footer Elements group. The text Page &[Page] of
&[Pages] appears in the center section of the footer.
8. Press the Tab key to move to the right section of the footer, type Prepared by: ,
press the spacebar , and then type your name. See Figure 2-41.

9. Click cell , and then scroll through the other two pages of the worksheet to A1
verify that the same header appears for each page, and the center section of the
footer displays the correct page number and total number of pages.
