Case | Seaborg Group
Ajita Gupte is a fi nancial assistant for the Seaborg Group, a fi
nancial consulting agency located in Providence, Rhode Island. One
of her duties is to prepare fi nancial reports on the investments the
Seaborg Group makes for its clients. These reports go into a binder
containing the fi nancial status of each client’s different investments.
The client receives the binder at annual meetings with his or her
fi nancial advisor, and receives updates on the status of the
investments periodically throughout the year.
Many of the company’s clients invest in the New Century Fund, a
large growth/large risk mutual fund that has been operating for the
past 10 years. Ajita needs to create a report that summarizes the
fund’s fi nancial holdings as well as its 10-year performance record.
She already entered the fi nancial data into an Excel workbook, but
needs help fi nishing the report. Because many clients are
overwhelmed by tables of numbers, Ajita wants to include charts and
graphs in the report that display the current and past performance of
the New Century Fund. You will help Ajita to create these charts.
