Printing Labels
Whether you’re printing just one or an entire sheet’s worth, labels require special
handling. You have to make sure the text appears in exactly the right position,
without spilling over the edge and making the label useless. Word eliminates the
guesswork. It knows the specifications of different manufacturers’ products, so it can line
up your text perfectly.
Note: If you’re doing a big mailing and plan on printing an address label for each name on a large
mailing list, jump over to page 148, which gives step-by-step instructions on mail merging in Word.
Here’s what you do to print out a single label or a sheet of identical labels (return
address labels, for example):
1. SelectMailings Labels(Alt,M,L).
The Envelopes and Labels dialog box opens displaying the Labels tab, as shown
in Figure 5-7.
2. IntheAddressbox,typetheaddressyouwanttoprintonthelabel.
If you prefer, you can click the small book above the Address box and choose a
contact from your Outlook address book.
Figure 5-7:
You can print out a single label or a full page
of the same label using the Labels tab of the
Envelopes and Labels dialog box.
