Block Dangerous Excel File Types
Chapter 10: Maximizing Excel Security and Privacy
The Trust Center dialog
5 Click the File Block
6 For each file format
you want to block,
click to select the Open
7 Click to select the Open
Selected File Types in
Protected View option.
8 Click OK.
9 Click OK.
Excel puts the new File
Block settings into effect.
For maximum safety, you can
configure Excel to not open
potentially dangerous file types.
Follow steps 1 to 5 to display the
File Block Settings tab. Click to
select the Do Not Open Selected
File Types option, and then click OK.
If you find that you occasionally need to open one
or more of the file types that you have blocked, you
can restore the Excel 2010 default settings. Follow
steps 1 to 5 to display the File Block Settings tab,
and then click the Restore Defaults button. When
Excel asks you to confirm your selection, click the
Restore Defaults button, and then click OK.
