Did You Know?
Unfortunately, Excel does not offer a
Browse button or similar feature to help
you choose the folder you want to use as
the default file location. If you are unsure
of the exact path to enter, you can use
Windows Explorer to copy the correct
path. To learn how, see the first Tip in the
section, “Open Workbooks Automatically
at Startup,” earlier in this chapter.
Try This!
Excel can also accept a network location as
the default file location. This must be a
shared network folder, and you must have
sufficient permissions to save files to the
folder and make changes to the files in the
folder. In the Default File Location text box,
enter a network address in the form
\\ SERVER \ Share , where SERVER is the
name of the network computer, and Share
is the name of the shared folder.
