Understanding styles
You only need to select the text and click a style in the Quick Styles Gallery to apply
the style.
Use the Quick Styles Gallery to select a style.
In this exercise, you will open an existing document located in the Word06lessons folder.
To open the document you need for this lesson:
Launch Word.
Choose File > Open. Word displays the Open dialog box.
Navigate to Word06lessons. Click word0601, and then click Open.
Select File > Save As. Word displays the Save As dialog box.
In the File Name text box, type word0601_done and click Save.
Applying a style
Using a style, you can apply several formatting attributes to text with a single click.
In the word0601_done document, place the cursor to the left of History of Amusement
Parks, and triple-click to select this text.
On the Ribbon, click the Home tab. In the Styles group, click the More Styles icon,
which looks like a down arrow with a line above it.
Use the More Styles icon to view the full list of style options.
Click Title. Word changes the text to the pre-set Title style.
