Creating a table
Moving around in a table
When you begin to add text to a table, you can use the keyboard to move from cell to cell.
Certain keys perform dif erent functions within the table.
KEY(S)
FUNCTION
Tab
Moves the cursor to the next cell from left to right
Shift+Tab
Moves the cursor backward to the previous cell
Enter
Adds a new paragraph to a cell
Shift+Enter
Breaks up a long line of text in a cell with a soft return
Ctrl+Tab
Indents within a cell
When you press Tab in the last row and column of a table, Word adds another row.
Formatting a table and adding text
Word supplies a variety of formats that you can assign to a table. In this exercise, you’ll select
and apply a predei ned format to the table you created.

In word0701_done, click anywhere inside the table. Word displays the Table Tools tab on
the Ribbon.

Click the Design tab.
The Design tab displays the table styles.

Click the More button located to the right of the table styles to view the built-in
table styles.
The More button will display more table style options.
