Working with shapes

On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes. Excel displays the Shapes menu.
The Shapes menu lets you draw a predei ned shape.
When you draw a rectangle or an oval, you can draw a square or a circle by holding down the
Shift key as you drag the mouse.

Click the parallelogram located in the Basic shapes group (this is the i fth shape from the
left in the top row).

Click the upper-left corner of cell C3, drag to the upper-right corner of cell D3, and
then drag down to the bottom of row 7. Release the mouse button.
Excel automatically adds a blue i ll to the shape.You will now change the shape using the
drawing tools.
