Creating a blank publication
Setting page margins
The blue rectangle that appears within the boundaries of your page represents the page’s
margins. Publisher automatically sets the margins to one-half inch when you create a new
document, but if you need to adjust the margin size, you can choose from several options in
the Margins area of the Page Design tab.
The margins are only for guidance. It is possible to place text, graphics, and other objects outside
the document margins in Publisher.
Use page margins to guide you.
Changing page orientation
As you work with your publication, you may want to switch the page orientation. So far,
you’ve been working with a blank document in portrait format, but you can easily switch to
landscape format (and back).
To change the page orientation:

Click on the Page Design tab.

Click on the Orientation button in the Page Setup group to reveal the options.
