Customizing and Sharing AutoCorrect Entries
The AutoCorrect shortcuts that you create in Excel are used in other Microsoft Office applications
(and vice versa). The shortcut definitions are stored in the file named *.acl . Its exact name
depends on the language version of Office. If you use the U.S. English language version of Office,
the file is named mso1033.acl . The location also varies, so you’ll need to search your hard drive
to find it.
If you create some custom AutoCorrect shortcuts that you want to share with a colleague, you
just make a copy of your *.acl file and place it in her directory. Be aware that replacing the
*.acl file wipes out any custom AutoCorrect shortcuts that your colleague might have created.
You have no way to merge two *.acl files.
