Using Custom Date and Time Formatting
Using Custom Date and Time Formatting
When you enter a date into a cell, Excel formats the date by using the system short-date format.
You can change this format by opening the Windows Control Panel and selecting Regional
Settings.
Excel provides many useful built-in date and time formats, accessible in the Date and Time
categories on the Number tab of the Format Cells dialog box. Table 51-1 shows some other date and
time formats that you might find useful. The Value column in the table shows the date-and-time
serial number.
