Identifying text cells that begin with specified letters
The worksheet shown in Figure 19-21 contains a list of names in the range A5:G32. Cell A1
contains one or more letters of the alphabet. A conditional formatting formula highlights the names
that begin with the letter sequence in cell A1.
The conditional formatting formula for the range A5:G32 is
=LEFT(A5,LEN($A$1))= $A$1
