Customizing an existing template
3 In the Open dialog box, click the file type drop-down list and click
Word Templates (*.dotx).
4 Click in the address bar, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates ,
and then press the Enter key.
5 Click the template that you want to edit.
6 Click the Open button.
TIP If the template you want to edit is one that you previously
created by using the Save As command, the file might be in a
different folder. In step 4, in the left pane of the Open dialog box,
expand the Documents library, expand the My Documents folder, and
then click the Custom Office Templates folder.
TRY ThIs If you frequently open templates for editing, you
can save time by adding the User Templates folder to a
Windows Library so that it appears in the folder list on the left side of
the Open dialog box and the Save As dialog box. Right-click the User
Templates folder, click Include In Library, and then click the name of
the library or create a new library.
