Controlling field formatting by using switches

4 Inside the quote marks in the field code, type a time format such as
hh:mm am/pm .
5 Right-click the field and then, on the shortcut menu that appears,
click Update Field.

Format a text field
1 In a document, press Ctrl+F9 to insert a pair of field markers and
type the field code quote “sample text” \* charformat \* upper .
2 Format the letter q with a different font and size, such as Arial Black
at 14 points, that you want to apply to the entire field result.
3 Right-click the field and then, on the shortcut menu that appears,
click Update Field.

TIP In a field code, the keyword and some of the formatting
switches (such as CharFormat) are not case-sensitive. Date
format expressions and some formatting switches (such as Roman) are
case-sensitive.
