Using multiple indexes
Make indexes for different kinds of entries
1 On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Show/Hide ¶ to
display the hidden XE fields.
2 Edit each XE field to add an \f switch and a one-letter identifier for
the type of entry.
For example, you might insert \f n into entries for names, and \f o
into entries for other topics.
The letters you use as identifiers are arbitrary. The only require-
ment is that each entry of the same type must have the same letter.
Uppercase and lowercase of the same identifier are treated as the
same entry type.
3 Click in the document at the location where the special index
4 On the References tab, in the Index group, click Insert Index.
