Making tables of tables and tables of figures
Insert a table of tables or figures
1 Click in the document at the location where the table of tables or
figures should start.
2 On the References tab, in the Captions group, click Insert Table Of
3 In the Table Of Figures dialog box, click the Caption Label list box
and select the type of item to be listed by the current table.
4 Click the Formats list box and select the appearance you want.
5 If you want to place the page numbers at the right margin of each
column, select the check box for Right Align Page Numbers. Then,
in the Tab Leader list box, select a tab leader style or (none).
6 Click OK.
7 If there is already a table of the same type in the document, Word
displays a message pop-up box that asks whether to replace the
selected table of figures. If you intend to change the existing table,
click Yes; otherwise, click No.
TIP The message pop-up box always makes reference to a
table of figures, regardless of which type of table you chose to
