Removing the background from a picture
Sometimes you can make a picture more interesting by remov-
ing a drab or confusing background, leaving only the subject.
Depending on the effect that you want to achieve, you can then
apply other effects such as a shadow or a three-dimensional
thickness to the image.
Remove the background
1 Click a picture in the document to select it.
2 On the Picture Tools | Format contextual tab, in the Adjust group,
click the Remove Background button.
3 Drag the handles on the tool’s lines so that the rectangle encloses
the part of the picture that you want to keep and excludes most of
the areas that you want to remove.
