Building charts to display data
4 If you want to apply an interesting chart style or change the colors
of the chart’s elements, click the Chart Styles button. Then, in the
Styles And Colors gallery that opens, click the desired style.
5 If you want to prevent some of the data from appearing in the
chart without removing it from the data sheet, click the Chart Filters
button and then select or clear any of the check boxes next to the
data items. Then, click the Apply button at the bottom of the pane.
6 If you want to change the formatting of a specific part of the chart,
first click that part. On the Chart Tools | Format contextual tab, in
the Current Selection group, click Format Selection. In the Format
pane that opens, change the formatting items as needed.
TIP The formatting tools provided by the buttons at the side
of the chart are also available on the Chart Tools tabs. Because
the buttons are close to the chart, they’re more convenient than the
