Creating SmartArt diagrams
Format a diagram
1 Click a SmartArt diagram in your document to select it.
2 On the SmartArt Tools | Design contextual tab, in the SmartArt
Styles group, click the thumbnail in the SmartArt Styles gallery that
is closest to the appearance you want.
3 If you want to change which theme colors are used in the SmartArt
diagram, on the SmartArt Tools | Design contextual tab, in the
SmartArt Styles group, click Change Colors. Click the thumbnail in
the gallery that displays the theme colors you want.

TRY ThIs To change the formatting of one shape in the
SmartArt diagram, click that shape. On the SmartArt Tools |
Format contextual tab, in the Shape Styles group, use the tools to
choose a style, change the shape’s fill and/or outline, or apply a shape
effect. For more information about changing the formatting of a shape,
see “Changing the appearance of a shape” on page 300.
